Fully Degradable Paper

Origin: Finland

What are “Fully degradable” and “Degradable”?

With changes in sales and personal lifestyles, the demand for takeaway services has rapidly increased. The surge in demand for takeaway utensils has created business opportunities, but it has also brought about a crisis of environmental destruction, increased waste, and environmental pollution. In pursuing good business practices, both disposable utensil and paper product operators and manufacturers are motivated by environmental protection and have introduced “fully degradable” and “degradable” products to replace traditional paper and plastic, with the hope of reducing environmental damage and becoming a sustainable business.

Fully degradable means

After use, paper products can be decomposed through forms such as biological decomposition, composting, thermal oxidation degradation, light degradation.

Using a kitchen waste machine can decompose in 7 days / composting requires 90 days.

The decomposed material does not contain toxins or glues, which not only does not affect the environment but also can be used as nutrients for plants or soil.

Eco-friendly fully degradable cooking paper

Current products: Finnish cooking paper, fully degradable environmentally friendly sugarcane pulp food container.

Advantages of sugarcane products:

  • Sugarcane pulp belongs to 100% original plant fiber.
  • Sugarcane pulp is a byproduct produced after sugar production and is fully utilized.
  • Sugarcane pulp replaces logging of trees. It can be completely degraded.
  • After processing, it can achieve water and oil resistance and can carry hot and cold food.

Fully biodegradable

Refers to the ability to naturally decompose, undergo biological and chemical reactions through microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and algae, causing changes in appearance and internal quality, and ultimately forming compounds commonly found in nature such as carbon dioxide and water, reducing their impact on the environment.

Paper products can naturally decompose when natural components are added.

Advantages of cornstarch-based products:

  • Refined using cornstarch and other environmentally friendly materials, containing no harmful substances to humans, and can be safely used.
  • After use, the product can be buried in the soil and can decompose into carbon dioxide and water after 110 days at the appropriate temperature, without polluting the soil and air.
  • Cornstarch is a sustainable resource, and compared to traditional products, it reduces the use of large amounts of wood and petrochemical resources.
  • The product has good weaving density, is water-resistant, oil-resistant, leak-proof, and can withstand high and low temperatures, making it widely used.
